Location. That's it.
Cons
The owning corporation (Chestnut Holdings) is 100% non responsive to any repair requests, with the exception of one instance in 2020/2021where the building's gas supply was cut off (took 3-4 months to get service back). The general consensus among the tenants is the corporation is hoping the current tenants get fed up and vacate so they can revamp the building into luxury apts. A neighbor who lived there 8 years never had a single service request addressed. I've been there 3 and still waiting on repairs to the roof, radiator, plumbing, to name a few issues.
Advice to the owners
At this point the owner has effectively refused to address repairs by way of refusing to communicate with tenants. I doubt they're not going to moved to action by anything short of a class action suit
Unkept building, unresponsive management
Pros
Good access to prospect park, subways, and Franklin Ave/PLG restaurant and bar offerings.
Cons
Roach infested unit (probably 75+ roaches over 6 months), rat infested courtyard (where you take garbage), unannounced water shutoffs (at least 6 -7 times in a year), completely unresponsive management. Super means well but is overextended, thus inconsistent (if any) follow-through on repairs/requests.
