Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenant reviews of buildings managed by Ray Seelall reveal consistent issues with poor building maintenance, unresponsiveness, and pest infestations. Many report chronic problems such as faulty heating, inadequate cleanliness, garbage mismanagement, and security concerns, including broken buzzers and frequent package thefts. While some apartments have modern updates and a few capable supers have improved conditions locally, overall management is frequently described as neglectful and slow to address tenant concerns. Renters caution prospective tenants due to persistent pests, unsafe conditions, and lack of communication, urging the landlord to prioritize building upkeep, pest control, and tenant relations to improve the living environment.

Good and Bad in East Harlem

Pros

Convenient to 6 train, not too far from 4 and 5 trains, many grocery stores in the neighborhood

Cons

No doorman or security, corner of 116 and Lex is extremely dicey, lots of methadone clinics/gang members in the area

Advice to the owners

Secure the front door and get a more responsive superintendent, Recently updated apartments are modern and nicely done--more of that in the building would be ideal.

Unresponsive and irresponsible

Pros

The maintenance staff who worked in the building, the size of the rooms

Cons

Management was absolutely horrible, did not deal with pest issues, made life hell
