Cheap Rent, Decent Living
Pros
-Private apartment building so the families are all Asian -The neighborhood is definitely very serene, peaceful, and quiet. I used to go out and come home between 11PM to 5AM often and nothing ever happened -For a 3-bedroom, the rent was very fair and cheap at $1,250 -This neighborhood had AMAZING food especially Soho Café & Grill, Sake Sushi (the wings), and Beverley Pizza & Café (cheaper and better pizza then Korner Pizza) but from what I’ve heard, those restaurants have all changed now. Check to see what it’s like if you move here or into the neighborhood -The F train used to always be crowded while the G train wasn’t so I eventually planned my trips via the G train (LOL) even if it meant walking a few extra blocks
Cons
-The apartment is very average, so average that living there for 5 years didn’t result in any outstanding memories – good or bad. The only real con is the lack of air ventilation despite having windows open. However, this issue exists in a lot of places I’ve lived, and I can’t pinpoint where the issue stems from. -The F train has people 24/7. The G train, however, avoid at night because there can be crazy homeless people. When you’re in a train alone at 3AM with one of those people, I’d run for your life.
Advice to the owners
-I don’t have much advice to give because it was very decent living for such a cheap price. Perhaps figure out the air ventilation problem though that might just have to do with location of the building more than construction of the building? I definitely moved out because despite the low rents, my family couldn’t afford it, but I wouldn’t have moved out otherwise.
