Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant feedback on buildings managed by Marti Garcia reveals systemic issues in management responsiveness and maintenance. Common complaints include inadequate heating, persistent pest infestations, poor cleanliness, and neglected repairs. Garbage management is often inconsistent, and residents report feeling unsafe due to noise, loitering, and lack of security. While neighbors are sometimes viewed positively, management’s failure to address urgent concerns, communicate effectively, or maintain building infrastructure leads to significant tenant dissatisfaction. Prospective renters should anticipate a challenging living experience marked by poor upkeep and unresponsive ownership across properties under Marti Garcia’s management.

Reviews

Many issues, structural and cosmetic

Pros

It used to be cheap.

Cons

- The boiler is so small that only one person in the building can shower at a time - Management requires you to use portable air conditioners due to the restaurant below, making the building uninhabitable during July and August - The floors and ceilings are all uneven - Lots of pest issues because the exterminator comes midweek when everyone is at work - Management never responds to any communication - Doorman prices for a barebones, regular old Brooklyn apartment Not management's fault but future tenants should be aware: - Lots of dirt bike traffic on Graham Ave means sleeping with windows open is not an option due to noise - Many homeless people camp out in front of the building because of the LinkNYC wifi

Good building, bad management

Pros

Good neighbors Close to the L and many great restaurants

Cons

Management is utterly uncommunicative and unresponsive, except when rent is due (the building has had no heat for almost two months, and do we know what the plan to fix this is: no)
