Great Building and Unit

Pros

Classic brownstone. Quiet neighbors. Perfect location. Brand new kitchen with dishwasher. W/D in unit! Cats allowed.

Cons

Could be updated a bit.

Advice to the owners

Clean the common areas a bit more frequently.

Charming but needs love

Pros

This is a GREAT neighborhood and the building and street are very charming. The front of the apartments are south facing and get lots of sunlight. The rooms on the back of the building get a nice view of other backyards and some can even see the Manhattan skyline. We loved living here for several years!

Cons

Landlord is generally nice and reasonable but often needs to be reminded to fix things. We had to ask for our oven to be replaced several times before it happened, and when it did, he just replaced it with a refurbished unit from decades ago. My neighbors also told me he almost got away with not repainting their unit before they moved in. Lastly, the stairs are very old and move/creak. The building hasn’t been inspected in 13+ years. It also needs a fresh coat of paint inside, as there are unsightly patches of different colors that can easily be covered up.

Advice to the owners

This building is wonderful but needs love. Please see the cons section.
