Mouse-central

Pros

It was renovated and looked nice. Location is great.

Cons

We had so many issues with this apartment, I don't even know where to begin. We had a W/D in unit -- my first one ever in NYC after living here nearly 10 years. It was a big deal. They were stacked on top of each other and the washer would shake and move across the floor as it did the spin cycle. I repeatedly said to the owner that this was an issue since the dryer was on top of the washer that one day the dryer was going to fall. Lo and behold, it did. We were unable to get into our bathroom, where the WD was for 2 days. Management didn't seem to care. They just asked if the dryer was still running. Uh, no....it fell out of the wall. We had a mouse problem that was so bad they literally chewed up the bottom of my bedroom door. Nothing was ever done. There was a leak upstairs that left us with a hole in our ceiling for over six weeks. Our lights fell out of our ceiling as well. One time, the building manager asked me to call him, so I did. He didn't answer so I left him a voicemail. He then blocked me so I couldn't call him again. Truly horrible place to live.

Advice to the owners

Idk, do ANYTHING to help the people who live in your places?

Pick your battles

Pros

+Love my neighbors on all floors! Everyone is friendly and looks out for each other. +Great location & close to grocery stores & laundry. +I feel safe; 2 locked building door entry & visible to Broadway where there is always people. +Reasonably close to 1, A, B, C, D, M4, M5, M100 +Close to many food options (dine in & take out) +Close to a Liquor store +Multiple 99 cent/bodega/misc. stores near by.

Cons

-Bad Communication: Property Manager(s) & individuals in the office don’t have a good grasp on what’s happening; In the building, in your apt, or even the details in your lease. -Properly Management turnaround is high! In less than 3 years, we are on our 3rd supper, 2nd VP, and at least 4th office personal/tenant point of contact. If you’re not on top of things, they will not be! -The property management’s goal is to fix things as cheap as possible. This typically results in follow-up building & apartment maintance requests… which can inconvenience other tenants such as turning off water or heat to fix a single apartment’s issue but all tenants are affected.

Advice to the owners

I understand a business’s goal is to make money. However, when one is in the industry of living, quality of life must be a top priority. Investing in quality will lead to long lasting equipment, tenants, and employees.
