Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant feedback for buildings managed by Denay Riley reveals a mixed management performance. Positive notes include responsive owner interactions and nice, quiet neighbors, with some buildings featuring good water pressure and pest control. However, recurring concerns are poor garbage management, pest infestations (rats, mice, roaches), and insufficient building upkeep. Several tenants cite unclean common areas, delayed or minimal super assistance, and occasional issues with heating and noise levels. Although some appreciate the locations and unit qualities, suggestions for improved pest control, maintenance consistency, and more competent, on-site superintendents are prominent. Renters should expect variable building conditions and management responsiveness.

An old building needs more love

Pros

The street noise is minimal especially if your apartment is north facing. Neighbors are nice and polite. Dog friendly.

Cons

Super is awful with the garbage maintenance. Pests have strewn garbage all over the ground, I've seen rats, cockroaches, and especially in the summer, there are tons of huge flies all around the stairs.

Advice to the owners

Get a new, more competent super

love the building but noisy in the back

Pros

pest control every month, no rats/very minimal bugs. hallway is kept clean and I usually can't hear my building neighbors unless i'm in the hallway. never had a problem with heat or electricity.

Cons

the building is old and apartments show that. plumbing isn't the best and can cause water damage from time to time. the super acts friendly at first but is cold and will take a while to help (if at all). if you have a unit facing the back - i would recommend you DO NOT take it. the backyard unit's dog barks 24/7 when they're not home and there's a seperate man who yells outside for hours (not kidding, hours) at a time from a different building's backyard on 25th. if your unit faces 24th - you'll be fine.
