Landlord tried to steal my deposit

building was decent but needed updates and improvements, better pest control, etc.

The landlord Simcha is difficult and unreasonable. He's bad at communicating and will pester tenants at odd hours, will choose to only communicate with certain tenants on a lease and ignore others, bad at issuing leases/paperwork in a timely manner, and tried to cheat me out of my security deposit. After my lease expired and I moved out he tried to claim we still had an active lease and that I owed him money for that month so he was going to keep the deposit. Insanity. I did everything by the book and had moved out weeks before. He was impossible to reason with and his excuses kept changing. A month later I filed a suit in small claims court and he eventually sent me the money shortly before the trial date. A year later my former roommate moved out and had the same issues getting her deposit back. Avoid this landlord and his mediocre apartments at all costs.

Follow the law, stop stealing people's deposits, take better care of your buildings

tents ate quite. keep to themselves mostly.

thieves , people have packages stolen from residents, unqualified superintendent, unqua lified so call building manger. landlord have a history or maintaining unsafe condition. building cameras don't work just have them up for show. hallway light are not on.unclean looks as if hallway is never sweep.or moped mice running around freely. landlord dont care about the people he wold periodically make racial remarks about African Americans or people of african decedent.
Advice to the owners
care about the tenants of the building. stop acting as if nobody work for a living
