Just a few of So many complaints. We signed the lease under conditions a/c would be provided. It’s a basement apartment so it’s not normal windows. Landlord brings over old dirty traditional window units which don’t fit. We explain this and was told to bad I provided. After a week of arguing and explaining it’s in the lease and being threatened to be evicted over holding him responsible for a/c he comes back with if you pay half for a/c install then we could get a/c. No path walk to apartment. Grass is never kept up so you walk in very tall grass all summer. 1/2” gap under door which crickets,spiders and several other bugs were coming in constantly. Used duct tape to keep the back. Landlord said they would learn it’s inappropriate for them to come in once they realize people live here and said bugs aren’t his responsibility. Utilities are included in rent which he complains about each month even though it’s between 2 apartments. The 1st week we moved in the freezer stopped working and we lost $500 of groceries,few months pass and stove was deemed unsafe to use,raw gas was being poured into the home. He brings this up every time we bring up an issue saying he could of replaced them with cheap ones and didn’t have to get nice replacements. Lol.Bottom line he wants his rent and doesn’t want to maintain the property.
Advice to the owners
Stop putting home owner responsibilities on tenants and refusing to provide what the lease says.
