Prewar & Problems: 500 Fort Washington Ave

Pros

So close to the A express train to midtown with stations at 181st & Ft Washington and 184th & Ft Washington across from Bennett Park 4 lowrise bldgs with not a whole lot of apts Longtime tenants with not a lot of turnover Close to three parks and it's a relatively nice neighborhood

Cons

Building owner Eli Management refuses to issue renewal leases to tenants! You have to call, threaten, whatever to get something that is LEGALLY required. As long as a tenant is in good standing, automatically a 1 or 2 yr lease should offered! Buildings could be cleaner The old management company and new management company doing the absolute least in taking care of the apts that need repairs with just anyone they hire to do the work THE WORKMEN HAVE NO LICENSE AND WILL MAKE THINGS WORSE!!! Problems, problems problems with the pipes and water! Y'all I don't live in the bldg that had the problem but saw the proof of all the wet materials when apts got flooded out a few months ago and a tenant lost everything!!!! Like WTF!!! And it was more than one apt like multiple damaged! What's up with the illegal airbnbs or charging for rooms? People coming in and out who we know don't live here and are not family! Hello we see you! The complex have mice and roaches sometimes and we used to have an exterminator with the old mgmt but idk about this new mgmt who bought the buildings in November last year. Some of the tenants are loud and disrespectful about playing their music like they live in the islands smh.

Advice to the owners

This is a nice place to live if you would help us take care of it. Fix the problems properly in the apts!!! Some tenants are elderly and need their apts repaired and y'all aren't doing the repairs at all or when you do it's bad because you hire terrible people! Don't think we don't see but we will keep reporting you to 311. Also you better check the pipes in the apts that tenant I feel so badly because we saw them dragging out like 100 bags out of the C bldg. Terrible terrible!!! SHAME
