Living here was not good for me at all.
Pros
Nothing to be honest. I’m trying to think of something. I have love and respect for this family but my love and respect can’t replace the mistreatment, and the very bad conditions experienced.
Cons
No heat for a prolonged period of time, lack of necessary repairs, discrimination, random pop ins (not according to ethical or lawful standards). Repairs are done only when the place is falling apart. Repairs are randomly scheduled. It is not mutually agreed upon by all the tenants of the house. There’s no consideration for any uncomfortable feelings about the pop ups, no respect for boundaries as a tenant. Pop ins and inspections are done at inappropriate times with no actual respect for all tenants comfortability or health (during the pandemic as well). Whenever repairs are scheduled it’s on the time of the landlord and there’s no choice but to comply even when uncomfortable. There’s unlawful threatening of eviction yet constant raises in rent. Other tenants in this house don’t feel uneasy or anxious about voicing discomforts. When it is voiced, it is not truly respected.
Advice to the owners
Please be fair. Certain things are not right. Checking in on someone or sending someone to check in on someone’s mental or physical health after so much discomfort in the property does not overrule the bad conditions and mistreatment experienced. I respect and have love for you but it’s not okay. I do deserve the same respect. Do not only rent to people who are Christian or Jehovah Witness or people that you feel you can convert. That’s discriminative. I do respect your believes and find things interesting though (but there’s a difference). Respect all tenants and treat them how you would want to be treated. Do not manipulate situations or certain tenants to get ahead. Don’t solely blame tenants for things that you have a huge or starting contribution too. It’s not fair. Put yourself in the tenants shoe more. Peace and love to you.
