Good, older building.
Pros
I lived here while I went to Brooklyn College. It's a reasonably nice building - Roger the super was very nice and responsive, the finishes were solid but no frills, laundry machines always worked, and never had a problem with the neighbors or management. The elevators were renovated around 2015, there's a part time doorman.
Cons
Had some roach and mice problems from time to time. It's a good location if you want to live in a more quiet neighborhood or want to be close to Brooklyn college, but it's pretty far from any restaurants or grocery stores.
Nice neighbors and ok/quiet but old building
Pros
Building is fairly quiet; can sometimes hear nearest adjacent neighbors but for most part is quiet. Building is regularly cleaned/swept. Neighbors are super friendly, nice and welcoming. Laundry in basement. Heat turns on in winter. Super is responsive, nice and respectful. He noticed we take our shoes off in our apt and takes his off when he enters; first time I've ever had a super do that respectfully in my 20+ years of NYC living.
Cons
The hallways are old and could be updated; it has really old (and dirty, despite being swept regularly) carpet; dark painted walls and poorly lit. Even though trash is maintained, there is a roach problem in the trash closet/chute but despite an exterminator (who does bare minimum), some tenants do not put their trash out correctly. Pest control could also be better/improved. The rent is paid old school via check; not a big deal but wish they would upgrade to electronic payment.
