Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenant reviews of buildings managed by David Israel reveal significant management challenges. Cleanliness and pest control are frequently criticized, with reports of rodents, roach infestations, and poor garbage management. Heating issues and inconsistent water pressure are common complaints, alongside delayed or ignored maintenance and repairs. Many renters express frustration with unresponsive or dismissive management and superintendents. While some note friendly neighbors and good locations, these positives are overshadowed by concerns over safety, poorly maintained facilities, and neglect. Overall, tenants advise the landlord to improve responsiveness, hire competent staff, and address longstanding maintenance and pest issues to enhance living conditions.

Cute First Apartment

Pros

Cute apartment, long hallways! Great lighting. Quiet, safe neighborhood, very responsive and friendly super.

Cons

Water pressure was temperamental. Most of my issues/repairs were with the bathroom. Pretty small bedroom and not enough closet space. It would get VERY hot with them controlling central heating.

DONT RENT before YOU SPEAK TO FELLOW Tenants

Pros

My neighbors are friendly and helpful.

Cons

There is no super. The Building hasn't been swept or mopped for more than a year. Recycles are piled up in the basement Creating a rat problem. Tenant security &safety is compromised due to The owners unwillingness to invest in working doors/locks At the building entrance. In the winter, the radiators do not produce adequate heat. Many of the apartments are in dire need of quality of life repairs that are delayed, or ignored by management.

Advice to the owners

Hire a decent super, clean up the building nd respond to repair request of your tenants.
