The worst landlord/management I have experienced in 15 years of renting in NYC

The building and location is amazing.
Cons
Over priced + raise rent every year over 10% and do not offer more than 1 year lease. Small bathroom and kitchens. Landlord/Management not willing to help or negotiate on anything. Requested to get out our lease 2 months early (been in the building for 3 years) as we are buying a house (and unfortunately timing never works out perfectly). They initially told us we would have to pay 2 month fee to break our lease 2 months early.. finally got them down to 1 month fee with 30 day notice. Which means they can rent our apartment plus get our 1 month fee - I asked if they could help us out and list the apt early and IF they were able to rent it early we wouldn't owe our fee or only owe a smaller fee. They would not even engage in any compromise. They were rude belittling.
Advice to the owners
Be nicer to your tenants who pay a lot to live in your buildings. Understanding you are running a business there are ways to make business minded decisions that also help people, just takes a little bit more effort.
Not bad, but can be better for this price I guess
Pros
A lot of markets, and bubble tea spot. 10 mins walk to Trader Joe’s and Target is great. Some nice Asian markets too. Transportation is also great. Have E, N, R, W, Q, 7, G train and more near the apartment. Ceiling is high, so room feels spacious. Beautiful lobby.
Cons
Pretty expensive. It’s LIC, so.. No mosquito net. I hate insects and I can’t open windows during summer cuz there’s no mosquito net on windows. Some units have a giant pillar in the room, making it hard to arrange furniture. Construction going on everywhere. Sometimes I feel some kind of slight vibration or shaking coming from the building? Have no idea what that is. I saw some pill bugs and centipedes around the lobby. I think it’s from the garden in the lobby. I sometimes see termites and spider beetles in my room. Not a lot, but still hate it.
