Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent reviews of buildings managed by Joseph Aizer suggest mixed experiences. Tenants appreciate good aspects like responsive management in some buildings, cleanliness, and amenities. However, recurring issues include poor pest control, unresponsive management to maintenance requests, and noise problems. Some buildings suffer from mice, roaches, and other pests, while others face challenges with cleanliness and neighbor disturbances. Recommendations include improving responsiveness, addressing pest issues effectively, and enhancing overall building maintenance for a better tenant experience. Overall, the buildings managed by Joseph Aizer have room for improvement to provide a more satisfactory living environment.

Unresponsive Management and Too Expensive for Area

Pros

Great neighbors, everyone knows each other and regularly hangs out. The people living there are very accommodating and helpful. Quiet building for the most part, but there is no type of insulation for noise, thankfully neighbors are respectful. Spacious bedrooms if you live in the rear apartments. Open concept if you live in the front apartments.

Cons

Weird layout for rear apartments. If you live in the front apartments that face the boulevard, it is extremely loud at all hours of the day. Management is unresponsive and takes forever to fix issues. Will only address an issue if it is reported to 311, but then will target you if they find out you did it. Too expensive for the area and the lack of maintenance. Can't remember the last time the stairs/hallways were swept. The dryer and washer are disgusting and never cleaned. (There is only a singular washer and a singular dryer for entire building.) Rats and roaches in basement. Nasty trash smell from basement. Neighbors and I have seen mice and roaches in apartments (some more than others, depending on the apartment location.) Electric and gas meter reading issues (being overcharged by ConEd for improper wiring or setup on building's end).

Advice to the owners

Listen to your tenants and fix the issues that are being complained about. Hire a super that is good at their job, instead of hosting parties and giving tenants attitude when asking for a simple favor.

Cons

management is a joke, mold and water damage in the apartment unit were never fixed despite multiple requests and documentation.
