Rent controlled units available, spacious, lots of families with children and pets, good appliances

Dirty stairs and halls, roaches and mice complaints from tenants, loud music, yelling, thin walls

Good Price, Extremely Loud Block
Pros
Cheap rent, spacious apartment, close to 4/D trains
Cons
Always loud music blasting especially in the summer when 50+ people from other neighborhoods would come to the block, a couple of shootings occurred. Experienced the worst of it since I lived on the ground floor. No heat during winter, again not sure if this was due to me being on the ground floor.
