Pretty in the inside, horrible outside

Pros

The unit is spacious, renovated and has high ceilings.

Cons

I recently moved in to the building and the apartment itself is great. The heat and hot water runs off sometimes and the floors are squeaky but other than that the apartment is great. What we don't like about it is the rest of the building, the neighbors specifically. We feel unsafe here, and neither the super nor management do anything to prevent the people who walk into the building. The halls are dirty, garbage piles up outside the apartments, music is loud and the reek of weed fills the air walking up the stairs. The front door appears to have never been replaced, and the security cameras don't work. The first thing we heard when we moved in is to be careful because people steal the packages, and now we found out the are worse things happening in the apartments besides stealing. We are trying to get off our lease now because we can't imagine living here for 1yr. Be careful when looking up an apartment in this place, and if you have advice on how to get out of here, please let me know.

Advice to the owners

Whoever is in charge of management, to actually manage the place

ITCHING for our lease to be up

Pros

the unit itself is spacious

Cons

DO NOT MOVE HERE!!! IRRESPONSIBLE AND UNRESPONSIVE MANAGEMENT!! HORRIBLE NEIGHBORS! I cannot list all the things that have gone wrong since moving in, because it would max out the word count on this thing. Almost every package we’ve tried to get delivered here has been stolen. The apartment came without grates for the oven burners (despite them being present in our initial showing) which we had to resort to purchasing ourselves and billing managment, since they didn’t seem to care our stovetop was unusable without them. The super makes no effort to clean the hallways regularly and so trash piles up in each corner. The door to the building is practically falling off its hinges, And is regularly breaking so it doesn’t lock at all! The real kicker here is the neighbors. Our neighbors have been loud (blasting apartment-shaking bass music sometimes for DAYS at a time) blatantly homophobic (slipping explicit and homophobic images under our door and in our door frame) and FILTHY (sweeping their trash into the hall). Not to mention the time we found one of our neighbors PASSED OUT on the floor in the hallway, blocking our door, and the super’s response was “He lives there” The management told us when we moved in that we were not the first to complain about these neighbors, and that they were already working on getting them evicted, but it would take “a month or two”. That was in January. It’s now almost October. The latest update is that they have been evicted, but they won’t be out until 30 days AFTER the NEXT court hearing, which is October 29th, so right when our lease is up! Lovely! Oh! and we’ve yet to see an exterminator! ever! And every time we reach out to management they ask “is your name on the sign up sheet in the lobby?” Only since the day we moved in!

Advice to the owners

Start to actually care about the people you have PAYING to live here, instead of protecting menace neighbors.
