Weird Experience at a Beautiful Unit
Pros
Beautiful historic brownstone. Never had issues with pests or uncleanliness. The owner is pretty responsive and personable as long as you’re cool and nothing happens to your apartment, I guess (will explain below). Neighbors are nice. Within walking distance of tons of different restaurants and bars, 2 subway stops, the co-op if you’re into that, and of course the park. You get the Park Slope serenity but with convenience and a 20 minute express train ride to Manhattan.
Cons
I had an incident while living at the property that necessitated my having to vacate the unit for a couple of days while my apartment was getting repaired. Although the owner promised me that he would reimburse me for the lodging while I couldn’t be in my apartment, he refused to do so once I moved back in. It wasn’t like I stayed at The Plaza; it was a modestly priced Airbnb room in Bushwick. I was advised to take the matter to the small claims court, but didn’t want to drag on the issue so I dropped it. Also, the heat. Forget about using a space heater because the electricity for the entire building would go out. There were only 2 radiators so my apartment was pretty cold.
