VERY tired of noise and rude neighbors

Pros

Don't move here... The maintenance staff are fine. The neighborhood/area is quiet mostly... until it isnt with parties on nearby or this building's rooftop and no one sleeps. Has a mailroom and laundry room (but machines broken all the time).... New building, but expensive.

Cons

Management doesn't care, they just want your money... Drugs sold and used outside building and on roof - non-residents use drugs on roof. Dogs pee and poop on roof including in children play area and management does nothing to stop it. People tossed rocks off roof onto the cars and people's balconies and back areas. Management didnt even send an email about it despite being informed of the incident. Unit is not a 2 bedroom apartment, do not let them rent it to you as such - the rent should be lowered accordingly because one of the "bedrooms" is against the neighboring apartment's livingrooms and you will not sleep if the neighbor has any activities during the evening (or middle of the night, which happens frequently). Contributing to this are two construction issues: 1) the walls between apartments in this building are SUPER thin..... a problem that persists even after a big ordeal where I convinced my landlord to install a second soundproofing layer on my wall, and 2) the floors in this building carry sound between apartments. I can hear people stomping around, it literally shakes my floor (and is like a drum in my ear as I try to sleep), this is particularly bad if they are in heels or nice shoes. So due to thin walls and drum-like floors, when my neighbor does anything, plays (even low level) base after midnight, vaccuums at 7am (yea...), or even normal and not inconsiderate things like coming home late and putting g their stuff away or their kitchen/living room area (sounds of setting objects on counters or plugging something into their wall), i hear it. Basically poor sound construction is a very big issue in this building. Unfortunately my neighbor is very inconsiderate and continues to play music at all hours of the night despite being well informed that sound carries. On top of all this, this is a also just a noisy and poorly managed building... People party on the roof at inconsiderate times and loudness, and they trash up the space including vomit in elevator. This building puts you at the mercy of your neighbors and sadly many neighbors like mine are rude and selfish.

Advice to the owners

Fix the walls... add real soundproofing between apartments. Can hear people sneeze... so when they vacuum, or play music (all of which should be perfectly fine), it is disruptive. I also highly recommend not investing in poorly constructed buildings in the future - you might benefit financially, but I don't care about your wealth... I care about tenant quality of life.
