Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenant reviews of John Busch's buildings reflect a mixed management experience. Several buildings are lauded for their cleanliness, good heating, and well-kept common areas, with responsive supers and attentive staff noted as positives. However, significant issues arise in some properties, including lack of effective management intervention in tenant disputes and harassment, pest infestations, outdated apartment conditions, and slow or inadequate maintenance responses. Racism and discrimination complaints were especially severe at some buildings, highlighting concerns about tenant safety and management's lack of accountability. While some residents recommend these buildings based on location and amenities, others warn of unresolved nuisances and management neglect.

Nightmare on Shore

Pros

Good Area, Pleasantly Clean Building

Cons

I have never felt the most unheard or unseen ever in my life as a young black female. Agony of continuous harrassment, discrimination and neglect for 7 months residing in a Unit owned by Delta Management. I have been bombarded with nothing but obscene levels of disturbances, racism and theft from my surrounding neighbors. Let’s start with the lack of competence the management has. I worked with Frantz for my moving process and it took unbelievably 7/8 months due to extreme inconsistent communication on his end & him choosing how and when to do his job properly. Now fully living in my apartment, and things just gets worst. The area is predominantly Caucasian, with strong influence of Russian & Jews. I have record of Two Russian speaking neighbors conferencing their hate of Black people, calling us Demons and upset that we are moving into “their” neighborhood. Another neighbor caught stealing my package. Appalled by this behavior both Super of the building & management was informed. No action took place. I live inbetween two couples (below/under) that causes consistent agonizing disturbances that I’ve been sending my complaints to management since my lease began June 2023. The disturbances include many but mainly dragging/dropping of furniture, loud obstructing fornication, physical intimidation and racketeering noises. Management has completely overlooked my complaints. I have expressed the fact I work from home for a financial institution as well as providing them with up to date medical conditions. They have chose to dismiss my concerns, leave me helpless and provided no solution. They have chosen to threaten me to keep quiet in regard to the disturbances. Management told me because these tenants lived here prior, that they will not rectify the problem. I’ve been physically intimidated by the couple below me, I have dated documentation of every occurrence since I moved in until now. I’ve made over fifteen 311 requests myself due to the recurring behaviors. Marylin Sollar is just the worse ! She acts as if she’s understanding, when in reality this company is only worried about money. They are liars ! They have failed to repair any maintenance requests since I moved in, especially repairs that was not done by me. Both Managament and the couple below me are harassing me with exaggerated and made up accusations of improper conduct. Management continues to harass me of inaccurate inappropriate conduct that singles solely me while the other tenants violations are just brushed off. They are encouraging the surrounding neighbors to continue to create obscene levels of nuisance that disrupts my ability to enjoy my own apartment about 90% of the time. I have emails, 311 requests, witnesses, abundance of audio clips from repeated nuisances, doorbell camera clips… EVERYTHING ! Managament is blatantly ignoring my emails and I don’t even feel like they are actually reading them. I have a current brain injury, asthmatic and someone who experience anxiety episodes frequently. I feel like I am losing my mind in my own apartment and there is no one to turn to for help. Management has even tried to scare me with threats of legal action and with all the sorrows I’ve experience and the full documentation I have to plead my case .. I can not believe that they are really choosing to be discriminatory, racist and just upright GREEDY ! I’m all for change and I am a firm believer that my skin color should not deter the type of treatment received from others. I am a NYC native. This is my first time apartment, and although one of my greatest accomplishments nothing but hurdles still come along this journey. It’s unfortunate I’m living with neighbors from hell, and a management team that is obviously the gatekeeper of nuisances. No matter what your nationality/ethnicity may be. I would not recommend this management company at all ! I don’t feel safe here at all. With management disregarding my complaints, and acting as if I am a pest. How can I live in such matter where no one is listening and it’s causing nothing but a big stress on my health.
