Doorman are great but the rest is meh

The doorman are great! Especially the ones that have been here awhile.
Cons
- Constantly told someone will come to your apartment and then they never show to fix things, or if they do they look at it and have to come back another day. - If facing Malcolm X Blvd there's a lot of street noise - there is not much around since half the block burnt down. Worry if they ever build there as it'll be a year/s of construction if they get their tower approvals - if you're not on a rent stabilized lease (check with DHRC as they lie) then they'll jack up your rent to eye watering levels. - don't believe anything they promise before you sign the lease - any improvements they promise won't be done. - heating was fine for years but has been terrible for the last two. I heard they had to blow torch a neighbors pipes to defrost them. - if you're near the dog run expect barking early and late at night - Had an assault in their laundry room but never notified the tenants. - peopel constantly get stuck in the elevators.

Pros
We moved in here when I started high school and I stayed until I graduated, my parents are still there until they move to Paris later this year; it’s well managed, the neighbors are friendly, and the doormen are so nice and helpful! A good place to raise a family.
Cons
The walls are too thin and in recent years some neighbors have been too transient
