Racist and lazy landlord
Pros
Rent was cheap. I paid only $1200 for a pretty big one bedroom plus utilities. The landlord takes recycling seriously.
Cons
The landlord told me I am not allowed to have black roommate, which is crazy and illegal. The apt was in a horrible condition. The landlord’s wife was very mean to me and treated me like I am her neighbor. The landlord is cheap and we had to talk to him a thousand times so he takes an action to fix things. It’s pretty cold in the apt during the winter, because the owner doesn’t want to spend much money on heating. The owner likes to walk in any room he wants without asking. It made me very uncomfortable. Didn’t have any problems with pests or rodents. Only saw a couple of water bugs a month before I was about to move out. It can get noisy and soundproofing is not the best.
