Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent reviews for buildings managed by Robert Silverblatt reveal a mixed management experience. Many tenants praise the well-maintained, clean, and renovated apartments with good layouts, natural light, and peaceful neighborhoods. Some buildings benefit from responsive and collaborative management addressing issues timely. However, several reviews highlight significant concerns including slow or unresponsive landlord actions regarding maintenance problems like mold, pest control, and heating failures. Garbage management and noise control are occasionally problematic, and some renters note high rent increases and poor communication. Prospective tenants should anticipate nicely updated living spaces but remain cautious about management responsiveness and infrastructure upkeep at certain locations.

Reviews

Former tenant·6 months ago

Overpriced but lovely!

Pros

The apartments are all newly renovated and done in a really nice way. The layout of the bedroom and living room via the kitchen is great as it segments the two. Both the living room and the bedroom are very large for New York. Fantastic natural light and the building manager is nice

Cons

The street is very loud especially during the summer - it’s extremely loud in the living room from the street noise but when you’re in the bedroom it’s fine. It’s an extremely apartment for the area, however, it is very nice. There’s a downstairs neighbor who has been there forever and constantly complains about the noise

Advice to the owners

Reduce the price :(

unresponsive landlord during mold issue

Pros

nice, quiet neighborhood and relatively updated

Cons

had a massive mold problem due to a very leaky window and it took months and months to get attention for it. all they did was paint over the existing mold and attempted to hide that “solution” from me

Advice to the owners

major structure improvements and responding to serious complaints ASAP
