Careless and Sketchy Landlord
Pros
- My kitchen has a lot of cabinets and counter space with relatively new appliances. - Only two apartments in the building and a store below - Very kind neighbors
Cons
- My neighbors and I went without cooking gas, heat, and hot water for three weeks upon moving in. - Tenants must pay for all utilities including heat and hot water. - All utilities are in the owner's name. They receive the bills, then request money from you without showing you the bills. - no fire or carbon monoxide detectors upon moving in - it took 311 reports and multiple HPD inspections to finally get cooking gas, heat, and hot water, as well as fire alarms (though my neighbors report still not having one) - no door bell or buzzer. - landlords retaliate against tenants who exercise their tenant rights. - no secure mailbox which led to much of our mail being misplaced and kept at post offices. - some maintenance guys have stated the landlords like renting to "dumb American girls" - The property management team is rude, careless, and money-hungry. - Ongoing COCKROACH INFESTATION.
Advice to the owners
Do better.
