DO NOT LIVE HERE

Pros

Very close to the 7 train and other multiple buses. Most apartments are spacious, there is a working elevator and a laundry room downstairs.

Cons

So many roaches. Landlord does NOT care if anything is broken. For my apartment personally, they tried replacing our kitchen (that wasn’t renovated for decades) with USED appliances and tried to charge us for it. Also, they contracted a fake plumber, and painters with license. The men that came in here to fix the kitchen did not have any licenses and all had FAKE IDS. The landlord then increased our rent because of this necessary renovation. Before that, it took us months to reach the landlord, and it took calling 311 to get them to respond to us after the city declared our kitchen unlivable and in desperate need of a renovation. The landlord had broken into our apartment twice years before, and there is a disgusting roach problem in every apartment including some rats. There are cracked floors, and a LOT of mold hanging around. If you ask for any renovation or help, you will automatically have your rent increased. The landlord is terrible, he is non responsive and selfish. One of the units were recently purchased here actually and the new owner of it realized the floor boards were sinking from the water from a broken pipe. The landlord previously knew about this issue and instead of fixing it before selling it, he patched it temporarily for it to hold until months after the new owner settled in. The new owner had to pay for all renovations even though it was the managements fault. As if this wasn’t enough, there is no heating for weeks/months multiple times in the winter. It’s unexplainable, but it happens and in 2021, we’ve gone a month and a half without heat which was the longest yet. Additionally, the laundry machines are terrible and do not work. There’s a lady that also leaves her feces inside of the laundry machines occasionally, and management hasn’t taken much action besides giving her a warning. There are also many doctors/nurses in the building so there’s occasionally some syringes that end up in the machines which is obviously dangerous. On one side of the building, if you open a window you will get nothing but smoke coming from an incinerator next to the building. This smoke actually caused my lifelong neighbor to unfortunately develop a chronic lung disease, and the management takes no responsibility for it. Please STAY AWAY! This building is disgustingly kept. Nothing here is good, the landlord is rude and irresponsible while there’s a major pest problem.

Worst Living Experience

Pros

Relatively clean in common areas, small building so quiet.

Cons

There hasn’t been cooking gas for over 3 weeks, there is randomly no water for weeks at a night many times through the year. The building doesn’t notify tenants of anything, the landlord is a nice guy but can’t fix any issues and blames everything on the management who blame everything on the board and then nothing ever gets fixed. The laundry machines never work, when you complain they tell the tenants to call the laundry company. All the windows in our unit were broken and the landlord never fixed them. The heat is our unit never worked, our landlord was nice enough to buy us space heater but that made the whole apartment very dry. The radiator despite not working and being off is constantly banging at all hours of the day and night very very loudly, we complained about this being fixed for a year and nothing was fixed!

Advice to the owners

Either get rid of this property or work better with the board to make living conditions better
