Cute place, horrible management

Pros

The place is pretty spacious and clean with patio access, laundry, two dishwashers, hot water, A/C, internet, and common lounges for people to hang out. The location is conveniently close to the subway, and generally in a quiet area. There is weekly cleaning service, and generally good people that stay here.

Cons

The responsiveness of the company that runs this place is shady, this was supposed to be an affordable alternative to live in if you are a student or young, working professional in the city, but the general attitude of the company has shifted towards a more greedy approach. Having my lease come up feels like a runaway train as my rent for a room (not a full apartment that you can lock by the way!) has gone up in the last year from 1600 to 2200 for the same room that had no repairs, improvements or remodels or anything to bring up the property value. The owners never communicate their plans or anything on rent increases and everyone here has either been forced to move out because of the insane increases in what was supposed to be the companies answer to NYC's unaffordable housing to becoming unaffordable themselves for no reason. They made it clear that since this is not rent stable housing they are just going to continue increasing the prices and forcing tenants out as long as there is another person willing to pay more for a ROOM that isn't even a full apartment.

Advice to the owners

remember what the company was supposed to stand for and follow the law please

Not worth it at all

Pros

Free wifi. Nothing else.

Cons

Rats, neighbors, theft, unlocked front door, people literally stealing tvs from common area, took their sweet time with security deposit that they ghosted me on and then gave it to me 7months later after i left a review on BBB

Advice to the owners

Stop giving people random homeless people to live with
