Rafi & Ronen
Pros
Cute little apartment in the city.
Cons
-Way overpriced rent -If you live in this building, be very wary of signing a lease with landlords Rafi and Ronen. Slumlords. They will make you pay for anything that breaks in the apartment and are incredibly unethical. Only care about the money. Water bugs and cockroaches are present in building. Building and units are stuck in the 70s/80s look and appliance wise.
Advice to the owners
Vet your landlords, don’t make renters pay for broken for electric ACs/heaters.
Great apartment but terrible landlord!
Pros
Our apartment gets great light, has nice character (fireplace, outdoor space, etc)
Cons
Elevator breaks all the time. It was out for 32 days in 2019. Rafi is the landlord for 7 of the 26 apartments and is difficult to deal with and extremely cheap—he makes you pay for anything that breaks or basic repair/maintenance requests (ie snaking the drain in your shower). You also have to pay for your own heat (it’s electric) and because the heating unit is +30 years old, get ready for multiple hundred dollar Con Ed bills. The windows are also very thin so it gets very cold in the winter. Appliances in the kitchen all function but the fridge and dishwasher are from 1979 and also use up a lot of energy (more $$$).
Advice to the owners
Don’t yell at your tenants.
