GREAT AT THE BEGINNING
Pros
GREAT AT THE BEGINNING BUT...
Cons
THEY HAD AN OLDER LADY AS THE "SUPER" SHE DID NOTHING MOPED THE LOBBY EVERY FEW WEEKS. SHE HAD WEIRD PICS AND THINGS IN THE BASEMENT. THE BUILDING SLOWLY GOT A HUGE WATER BUG INFESTATION IT WAS HORRIBLE.
Once a very good building
Pros
My unit is very big (and not just by NYC standards), the bathroom and kitchen were completely renovated and upgraded before I moved in. Super is very nice and responsive. Neighborhood is great - quiet residential area with an incredible park just steps away.
Cons
I can hear EVERYTHING from my immediate neighbors. And NOT because I have very loud neighbors, but because of poor noise insulation and/or the way the building was constructed. I'm hearing just everyday activity very clearly through the walls & ceilings. I'm not exaggerating when I say I can hear their sneezes and their every step. I can also clearly hear the elevator motor and whenever the elevator door opens and shuts. A couple of years ago, the live-in super retired and it took months before they hired a new super (but one who is only at the building during regular business hours, and doesn't live in the building). During the time when the building was without a super, things deteriorated a bit. The new super is very nice and responsive but I feel like the building never fully recovered to the state it was in when we had a live-in super.
