Better than most from what I've heard
Pros
Good location if you don't mind the hill, technically it has laundry in the building, no pests besides the occasional ant or centipede, spacious apartments, super is a nice guy and has fixed most of my issues, safe neighborhood, no major problems with heat or hot water
Cons
Loud neighbors, poor sound insulation, as a tenant you don't have control of your heat, and it's usually colder than I would like but never freezing. If you live in a apartment with exposed pipes there is a huge water hammer problem where the pipes will make banging sounds so loud I can hear it through my noise cancelling headphones and it will knock some pieces of the wall around the pipes out. I've told the super about it multiple times and he has acknowledged it but hasn't done anything about it. In my apartment at least, none of that rooms were square and all the walls were at weird angles. There also was a noticable amount of damage to the baseboards/walls of the apartment and some of the floors would sag when you put weight on them and would break the seal of the baseboards to the floor. There is laundry in building but it only takes quarters and there's only 3 washers and 1 working dryer. All of these are livable issues though, and in my opinion the pros outweigh the cons, but only barely
Advice to the owners
The building is in desperate need of a renovation/modernization. If that was done I would gladly live there for a long time
