The best building just too pricey
Pros
Great rooftop, nice location, clean gym, high ceilings, spacious apartments
Cons
Rent is getting too high
Great building, cruel management
Pros
The location is amazing - close to L, G, J, M lines. Right off of Metropolitan but still on a quiet street. Some apartments are very chic (east and west facing ones get a lot of natural light). The apartment walls are thick and the loft-like details are very nice - I believe the building used to be a pencil factory. Much better than the cookie cutter stuff in the neighborhood. Nice rooftop, small gym but gets the job done.
Cons
The building was sold from Gershon to Gaia in 2022. We went from a friendly management firm with personal connections and minimal rent increases to a cruel private equity firm masquerading as a landlord pushing double digit % rent increases every year. The new management is unsympathetic and unreasonable in negotiations. Many old-timers were pushed out. But hey at least we now get some spartan event with free jungle juice every 3 months! One of Williamsburg's rare gems ruined.
