Not a smoke-free building, smelly building, not worth the money
Pros
Great proximity to public transit and a Trader Joe's.
Cons
This is not a smoke-free building, so the hallways smell like stale cigarette smoke. My neighbor across the hall is a smoker, I bought an air purifier to put next to my front door from the smoke getting into my apartment. Depending on when people are smoking, you might also need to wear a face mask when going to C level to do laundry since there will be a lot of smoke fumes trapped there. Elevators and lobby frequently have a smell as well. Building has had plumbing issues the last couple of months. The superintendent (Bek) is not responsive if you have any issues that are not easy/quick fixes and will ghost you.
Advice to the owners
Property needs better maintenance
poor management, poor smells
Pros
- good water pressure - rent stabilized units - relatively new/well-renovated interiors
Cons
- common areas are dirty, smelly, not well maintained - smoke smells on a lot of floors + laundry floor - management and super are unresponsive, hard to reach, and sometimes blame tenant for issues - experienced pests, bad wear and tear in units that were left unaddressed, broken amenities (like laundry) - Neighbors can be very noisy, but management doesn't care
Advice to the owners
Please hire a new super, or ask that the current one be much nicer + more responsive :(
