Wasn’t the best place
Pros
1)The side of the building I lived in had pretty good neighbors. 2) No one really bothered you. 3) for a short period of time the super was very helpful
Cons
1) Management sucked! 2) management didn’t want to take responsibility for anything. 3) there were always roaches 4) there were mice and landlord didn’t care till I called 311. 5) basement ALWAYS had roaches 6) the heat would blast way way to high there was no air to breath. 7) there were always leaks and no one wanted to fix it. 8) management wanted to paint over mold and told me they know better than me. 9) only way to get management to take anything serious was to call 311
Steer clear of this building
Pros
The building has good heat in the winter, and the apartments are spacious.
Cons
Update!! We moved out of this apartment (finally), and as expected, the landlord dragged his feet on returning our security deposit. In addition to that, he deducted money from the security deposit for preexisting damage. If you do rent from him, make sure to video record the apartment before you take possession, because he will try to blame you for the damage. If a “thorough” walkthrough had been done when the last tenant moved out, this would have been discovered. There are far too many to list all of them, but I will list a few. Management isn't very responsive, and we have had to threaten litigation to get some basic repairs done in our apartment. I suspect we are one of the few people paying market rent, so you would think that management would take our concerns seriously. The building has several security cameras, but none of them work, so thieves can simply steal packages a will. There is a homeless man that sleeps in the vestibule, and spews profanity when he is inebriated. Some of our neighbors live like savages, and think nothing of leaving their garbage in the hallway, in the elevator, or in the lobby. It's not uncommon to find people smoking in the building (despite the no smoking signs).
Advice to the owners
How about giving those of us that pay market prices what we pay for.
