Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant feedback for MICHAEL MINTZ's buildings reveals well-maintained and clean properties, especially in Queens, praised for amenities like gyms, doormen, and roof access. The management is often commended for responsiveness and helpful staff, although some find them difficult to reach via calls or emails. Heating systems can be inconsistent or costly, and a few buildings report pest issues and outdated appliances needing attention. Noise levels and neighbor quality vary by location. Maintenance delays and rent hikes have raised concerns in Manhattan properties. Overall, expect good cleanliness and amenities but occasional challenges with maintenance responsiveness and infrastructure upkeep.

great place to live

Pros

Amenity filled building (gym, doorman, elevator, roof access and more; amazing super!; clean;

Cons

Outside of city, little far from main LIC restaurants but still close to other great spots. The access to outdoor spaces can sometimes be limited which is frustrating but not the worst thing!

Luxury for a price

Pros

Nice new appliances, washer/dryer and dishwasher in the unit was a huge plus. Generally pretty quiet, nice neighbors.

Cons

Maintenance requests take forever and are frequently marked complete before the issue is resolved. Heat is prewar and it can get very hot and dry inside in the winter, to the point that we ran AC almost all year to stop the apartment getting above 75.

Advice to the owners

Respond to maintenance requests more quickly.
